二胡 Concert!
Our friend Addison came over for dinner and at our request played a piece for us on his 二胡 (èrhú), a traditional Chinese two-stringed instrument similar to a violin (though played very differently, with different resulting sounds). You may notice the case on the floor with some change and a dollar bill… a small joke by me, since the only other times I’ve seen this instrument played is in public venues by folks trying to earn a buck.
