Chemistry Lab
One of our frequent Saturday stops is the local Lowe’s, which hosts a semi-monthly “Build and Grow” workshop.
Today, we discovered that a glitch in their computer systems resulted in a bunch of workshop spots that had been reserved… had been lost. So we couldn’t participate.
Fortunately, my genius wife remembered that today, Michael’s arts & crafts store was hosting a hands-on demo of some of the science kits they sell. And that turned out even better than hammering nails to make a pre-built kit. The kids got to make models of water (H2O) and sulfur dioxide (SO2) as well as experiment with water, food coloring, and cross-linked polyacrylamide. Which ended up occupying them for way over an hour! Fun!
